Our blog has not been forgotten; it’s just
that we don’t have too much to say.
I spend Mondays researching agents and try to
get one query out a week. Right now we have two submitted and are awaiting responses.
In the mean time, we’re working on the next
book, which is painfully slow. Not sure if we’re lacking in ideas, motivation,
or energy, because it takes all three to plunk ourselves down and write. I got
a scene from Larry yesterday, so it’s my turn.
Two weeks of 100 degree temps have driven me
indoors, so I will have more time to do write. Now I just have to come up with an
idea…

I'm also finding it difficult to move forward with a sequel while promoting my finished novel. I have only about 5000 words done on it. On the other hand, I've sent e-mails to many individual contacts--one of whom gave me a 5-star review--and to several newspapers--one of which has printed a story. I tweet about it every time something newsworthy happens, and am pleased that it's been in the 50,000s on Amazon a total of 5 days, and in the 200,000s on Barnes and Noble the last couple. So as long as you're sending out SOMETHING, I think you should be happy, if not content.
Lots of queries, lots of rejections...but it takes just one. (I have a metaphor, but it seems inappropriate here.) :) Lots of ideas down this way, but not enough heatless wakefulness to write in. If only I could curb my dependence on sleep.
